NROL-27 Mission Patch

NROL-27 mission was nicknamed "Gryphon", launched on March 11, 2011, under the USA-227 satellite. The launch happened in Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS), Space Launch Complex 37B (SLC-37B) located on Cape Canaveral in Brevard County, Florida using the Delta IV rocket. It is positioned in Geosynchronous orbit, 35,810 × 35,778 km × 4.6°. The design is based on Quasar 17 or Satellite Data System (SDS). Its function is as a communications satellite, an artificial satellite that relays and amplifies radio telecommunication signals via a transponder; it creates a communication channel between a source transmitter and a receiver at different locations on Earth. Communication satellites are used for television, telephone, radio, internet, and military applications. Its current status was presumed active and was able to enter outer space and do its service.
