DOD - Department of Defense

CONAD is a former Unified Combatant Command of the DoD tasked with air defense for the Continental United States. CONAD oversaw Army Project Nike missiles and USAF interceptors. This command was active from 1954-1975. 

USLANTCOM or USACOM was a Unified Combatant Command of the DoD. This command was active from 1947-1999. In 1999 the command was renamed United States Joint Forces Command and given new mission. 

USJFCOM is a former Unified Combatant Command of the DoD. This command was disestablished in 2011 and its essential functions reassigned. This command was headquartedd in Norfolk, Virgina. 

USTRANSCOM is located at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. This command is responsible for coordinating missions around the world. Utilizing forces among Army, Navy and Air Force.

This command is responsible for global strike, strategic deterrence and operating the DoD's Global Information Grid.

USSTRATCOM headquartered at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. This command is responsible for global strike, strategic deterrence and operating the DoD's Global Information Grid.

USINDOPACOM formally known as United States Pacific Command. Scope was enlarged due to the increased connectivity between the Indian and Pacific oceans.  This command headquarters at Camp H. M. Smith in Oahu, Hawaii.   

USPACOM is the largest and oldest of the unified combatant commands. This command was renamed the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command on May 30th, 2018. The Headquarters of this command is located at Camp H. M. Smith in Oahu, Hawaii.

Part of the Unified Combatant Command, USAFRICOM or AFRICOM is responsible for military relations and operations with 53 African nations. This unit is headquartered at Kelley Barracks in Stuttgart, Germany. 

USCENTCOM is responsible for directing and enabling military operations throgh areas located between the European, Africa and Indo-Pacific Commands. Headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base Tampa, Florida.
