Description

NROL-23 mission was nicknamed "Canis Minor", launched on February 3, 2005, under the USA-181 satellite. The launch happened in Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS), Space Launch Complex 36 (SLC-36B) located on Cape Canaveral in Brevard County, Florida using the Atlas IIIB rocket. It is positioned in Low Earth Orbit (LEO), 1,404 × 822 km × 63.4°. The design is based on Intruder 7A & 7B or Naval Ocean Surveillance System (NOSS). Its function is as a Naval reconnaissance, a series of signals-intelligence satellites that have conducted electronic signals intelligence for the U.S. Navy since the early 1970s. Its current status was unknown but was able to enter outer space and do its service.
