Description

NROL-16 mission was nicknamed "Prometheus", launched on April 30, 2005, under the USA-182 satellite. The launch happened in Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS), Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) located on Cape Canaveral in Brevard County, Florida using the Titan IVB rocket. It is positioned in Low Earth orbit, 728 × 725 km × 57.0°. The design is based on Lacrosse (satellite). Its function is as a Synthetic-aperture radar, a form of radar that is used to create two-dimensional images or three-dimensional reconstructions of objects, such as landscapes. Its current status was unknown but was able to enter outer space and do its service.
