Description

NROL-12 mission was nicknamed "Aquila", launched on October 11, 2001, under the USA-162 satellite. The launch happened in Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS), Space Launch Complex 36 (SLC-36B) located on Cape Canaveral in Brevard County, Florida using the Atlas IIAS rocket. It is positioned in Geosynchronous orbit, 35,803 × 35,785 km × 10.9°. The design is based on Quasar 14 or Satellite Data System. Its function is as a Communications satellite, an artificial satellite that relays and amplifies radio telecommunication signals via a transponder; it creates a communication channel between a source transmitter and a receiver at different locations on Earth. Its current status was presumed active and was able to enter outer space and do its service.
