Kirtland Air Force Base is a US Air Force base located in southeast Albuquerque, New Mexico near the Albuquerque International Sunport. It was named after the Army aviator Col. Roy Kirtland. Built in 1941 and controlled by Air Force Global Strike Command.
The base is home to the 58th Special Operations Wing, an Air Education and Training Command unit.
Its host is the 377th Air Base Wing.
