Description

The Idaho State Seal was designed by Emma Edwards Green, the only woman in US history to design a state seal. It consists of natural resources such as forests, mines, wildlife, and farmlands. The woman holding a weighing scale and the miner symbolize equality, liberty, and justice. The shield also displays various images that represent several industries like timber, agriculture, and horticulture. The motto, "Esto Perpetua" which means "Let it be perpetual" is also written.
