Fairchild Air Force Base Patch
Description
Fairchild Air Force Base is a US Air Force base located in the northwest United States in eastern Washington, named in honor of Gen. Muir Fairchild (a world I aviator from the state and Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force). Built in 1942 and controlled by Air Mobility Command.
The base played a key role in the US defense strategy from World War II repair depot to the Strategic Air Command bomber wing during the Cold War.
