Description

Arizona Diamondbacks is a professional baseball team from the USA, playing since 2000. Founded in 1998, by Ken Kendrick and headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. The franchise started three years earlier when the owner held a contest for its name. Fans were asked to give name options.
Jerry Colangelo headed the franchise, he managed the Diamondbacks until 2005 due to financial challenges.
In 2004, Colangelo resigned, and the following year he sold his stake to a group of investors.
The team made several off-season acquisitions, after their fifth-place finish in the inaugural season, including Hall of Fame pitcher Randy Johnson, who won four consecutive Cy Young Awards in his first four seasons with the team.
In 2007, after eight years, had little change. The letter "A" resembling a snake mouth remained but was changed in color to red and black. The team name was made in a different font, and they also changed color from dark purple to black with a thin yellow outline to the letters.
