The Chicago White Sox is an American professional baseball team based in Chicago. The White Sox competes in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central division. It is owned by Jerry Reinsdorf.
In 1912, the design was updated to a capital letter "S" with a small letter "O" in the upper part and a small letter "X" in the lower part, forming the name of the team "Sox".
