The Chicago White Sox is an American professional baseball team based in Chicago. The White Sox competes in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central division. It is owned by Jerry Reinsdorf. In 1939, the logo designers made an animated version of the baseball player with an exaggerated blue bat over the right shoulder to represent the team. The team's name was written in capital white letters across the bat. A big baseball ball served as a background.
