Description

The United States Virgin Islands Flag was adopted in May 1921 and consists of a white background, a large blue initials V and I, a yellow eagle holding an olive branch, and three arrows with a superimposed shield of seven red and six white vertical stripes. The White color stands for purity and peace. The letters V and I stand for the Virgin Islands. The Eagle stands for the United States of America. The olive branch and three arrows stand for peace and the three major islands (Saint Croix, Saint Thomas and Saint John) respectively.
