Description

Arm Patch - U.S.S. Manchester - CL-83 - Korea. The U.S.S. Manchester was a Cleveland-class light cruiser of the U.S. Navy. It was laid down September 25, 1944 by the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation's Fore River Shipyard, Quincy, Mass. and launched March 5, 1946. It was named for the City of Manchester, New Hampshire. It saw service in the Mediterranean (1947-1949) the Far East (1949) the Korean War (1950-1953) and the Pacific (1954-1956) and was decommissioned June 27, 1956.
