Description
Minot Air Force Base is a US Air Force installation located 20 km north of Minot City, Ward County, North Dakota. Built in 1956 and controlled by Air Force Global Strike Command.
The base became a major Strategic Air Command in the 1960s with both nuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missiles and manned bombers.
It is home to two major wings: the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing.
