Baltimore Orioles are an American professional baseball team based in Baltimore. The Orioles compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) East division. The team was named after the state bird of Maryland. During 1998 season, subtle changes were made to the logo, the design of the bird much resembled to a real orange-and-black oriole.
