Baltimore Orioles are an American professional baseball team based in Baltimore. The Orioles compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) East division. The team was named after the state bird of Maryland. Its team mascot, the Oriole Bird was launched in 1979. In 1989, it changed the colors to a brighter shade of orange and black.
