Description

The 165th Airlift Squadron (165 AS) is a unit of the Kentucky Air National Guard 123d Airlift Wing located at Louisville Air National Guard Base, Kentucky. The 165th is equipped with the C-130H Hercules. Its role is for airlifting and has been active since January 1943. It was federalized and ordered to active duty on 10 October 1950. It flew the Sabre for two years, when it was re-equipped with Martin RB-57A Canberra reconnaissance aircraft.
