144th Airlift Squadron
Description
The 144th Airlift Squadron (144 AS) is a unit of the Alaska Air National Guard 176th Wing located at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska. The 144th is equipped with the C-130H2 Hercules. Its role is for Airlifting and has been active since September 1952. It was during 1957 when its mission was changed to airlift from air defense. Its mission is for the logistical support of the Alaskan Air Command Aircraft Control and Warning (Radar) sites.
