142d Airlift Squadron
Description
The 142d Airlift Squadron (142d AS) is a unit of the 166th Airlift Wing located at New Castle Air National Guard Base, Delaware. It is equipped with the C-130 Hercules. Its role is for Airlifting and has been active since 1942. It was on January 1966 when it was redesignated as Military Airlift Command, in which in the same year it was awarded the Outstanding Unit Trophy by Air Force Association.
