131st Rescue Squadron
Description
The 131st Rescue Squadron (131 RQS) is a unit of the California Air National Guard 129th Rescue Wing located at Moffett Federal Airfield, Mountain View, California. Its role is for combat rescue and recovery and has major engagements in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and has been active since 2003 up to the present. Back at its home base, its trained personnel responds to state emergencies like natural disasters and provides assistance to civil authorities of law enforcement.
