123d Fighter Squadron
Description
The 123d Fighter Squadron (123d FS) is a unit of the Oregon Air National Guard 142d Fighter Wing located at Portland Air National Guard Base, Oregon. The 123d is equipped with the F-15C Eagle. Its major role is as Fighter (Air Defense), nicknamed "Redhawks". It has participated in World War II, Korean War activation, Cold War, and Global War on Terrorism. It was the first unit to respond to a terrorist attack on September 11, 2001, on the east coast.
