113th Air Support Operations Squadron
Description
The 113th Air Support Operations Squadron (113 ASOS) is a unit of the Indiana Air National Guard 181st Intelligence Wing located at Terre Haute Air National Guard Base (Hulman Field), Indiana. It is under Air Combat Command and was nicknamed "Racers" with engagements during World Wars I and II. It is a descendant organization of the 113th Aero Squadron, established in August 1917. In July 1959, it was designated as a Tactical Fighter Squadron, with a mission to deliver Tactical nuclear weapons. During the 1961 Berlin crisis, it served as part of Operation Tack Hammer.
