Description
The Wyoming State Seal was adopted in 1893 and revised in 1921. It features the dates 1869 which commemorates the organization of the Territorial government and 1890 which is the year Wyoming was admitted to the Union. The Liberty-style figure in the center holds a banner saying "Equal Rights" is a symbol of equal political rights for women. The male figures are a symbol of the livestock and mining industries of the state. The lamps burning on the top of the pillar are symbols of the Light of Knowledge.
