Description
The Oregon State Flag was adopted in 1925 and is a two-sided flag. The front side has the escutcheon or shield found on the state seal,33 stars surrounding the shield, and the date 1859. On the reverse side is the image of a beaver.
The 33 stars surrounding the shield represent Oregon as the 33rd state to be admitted to the union.
The year 1859 is the year it was admitted to the union.
The beaver on the reverse side signifies the official state animal.
