Description
The Nevada State Flag was approved in 1991 and consisted of a cobalt blue field with the state's emblem in the upper left-hand corner. The emblem contains a silver star, sagebrush, and motto, "Battle Born".
The silver star symbolizes its nickname "The Silver State"
The sagebrush represents the state's flower.
The motto is a reference to Nevada's statehood during the Civil War.
