Kansas City Royals are an American professional baseball team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Royals compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central division. Founded in 1969 by John Sherman.
In 1969, the logo featured a blue shield topped by a little golden crown. A big and ultra-white capital letter "R" and on top of it the initials "KC" in gold. The full name "Royals" was below the primary logo.
