Description
The Guam Flag was adopted in February 1948, designed by Helen Paul, and consists of a dark deep blue background with a red border, and an almond shape seal on the center.
The dark deep blue represents the ocean.
The red border symbolizes the hardships and losses during the second war.
The almond shape seal which includes the Hagatna River symbolizes Guam's people as givers. The boat symbolizes the mode of transportation and the palm tree signifies life and survival in crucial situations.
