6985th Electronic Security Squadron Patch
Description
6985 ESS was activated in 1955 at Elmdorf AFB Alaska with Detachment 1 at Ladd AFB Alaska. Its mission was collection analysis and reporting of photo-reconnaissance and electronic signals intelligence. It provided the onboard sensor and intelligence personnel for the 24 Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron at Eielson AFB.
