172d Attack Squadron
Description
The 172d Attack Squadron is a unit of the Michigan Air National Guard 110th Wing located at Battle Creek Air National Guard Base, Battle Creek, Michigan. The 172d is equipped with the MQ-9 Reaper drone. Its role is for airfield support and has been active since February of 1943 up to the present. It was in May 1946 that it was alloted to the Nationa Guard. During the Korean War in 1951 it was assigned to Aird Defense Command and moved to Selfridge Air Force Base, Michigan.
