138th Attack Squadron
Description
The 138th Attack Squadron (138 ATS) is a unit of the New York Air National Guard 174th Attack Wing located at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base, Syracuse, New York. The 138th is equipped with the MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Its role is for an attack, nicknamed "The Boys from Syracuse" and has been active since August 1942. It received Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and National Guard Association's Best Family Support Center Award during its Operation Desert Storm engagement.
